When one thinks of forests, it brings to mind dense trees and very little sunshine falling through the thicket. Some small portions of the forest although don’t obey this rule. I was struck but how diverse in colour, given the opportunity of course, a simple wooded area could be. A very cold period in northern Italy strips the trees of their foliage, leaving the few evergreen exceptions to flaunt themselves, proudly in the bright sun. A rare occasion.
